Words are expressions from the soul, an element of communication, a collection of meaningless individual alphabets to give sense to the sensible ones and indeed the most important tool of scholars. Words are weapons in the hands of the holder, its output depends on the holders intentions. It can bring peace or war, love or hate, joy or sadness, freedom or slavery, hope or doom. Words are more precious than gold, more beautiful than silver, more treasured than diamond. The organized arrangement of words is called a sentence, which might also be positive or negative and is used as a vessel to transport message to its intended target, to initiate communication, relationship and know more about the people around you. I can only imagine what the world would be without words.
Words have changed history in time, past and present. Words of Abraham Lincoln ended slavery and exalted freedom, Words of Martin Luther King Jr. ended racism in the United States of America, Words of Nelson Mandela freed South Africa and made him one of the greatest of all time, the Words of Mahatma Gandhi lead India to freedom, the Words of Chinua Achebe brought the African dignity to the light of the world, Words of Nostradamus predicts the future, Words of Jesus and his saints defines our faith. The epitome of what words have brought to us is very important in the history of the world.
The dead are remembered by their words, which continue to change lives and effect change in our community even in the foundations laid for our future. We still go back to them to find answers to questions of the present generation; we find comfort in these words when we are depressed, we find motivation and inspirations from these words. then what are your words?, what kind of word do you want to be remembered for?, is it that of peace or war, love or hate, freedom or slavery, motivation or critics, joy or sadness, hope or doom, encouragement or discouragement, truth or lies?, a single sentence can make your name remain on the sands of time. Words from you can change the life of millions. Today is the day we all pray for change, but indeed, you are the change. I urge that you pick your pen and let the world feel your words, just as i have made you feel mine.
